Shapeshift is a new company that aims at creating strategic alliance relationships with businesses in an effort to create new markets for already existing businesses; established by three Jackson Hole natives, Ben Morley, Artemus Huhn, and David Dahlin. Our mission is to identify a company that we see potential in succeeding with other businesses, while the other business benefits mutually by introducing a new product into their market.
We have recently partnered with Ecopods, a Canadian company that we see potential in succeeding in the green business market. We are currently in the process of forming partnerships between Ecopods and solar design and installation companies, real estate companies, construction companies, and any other complementary businesses that see the benefit in offering Ecopods within their line of sales. We see Ecopods as being a catalyst in the 10x10 program by drastically reducing the carbon footprint through reducing the energy consumed through traditional construction practices. The Ecopod is a habitable structure designed out of an 8x20 shipping container using all recycled materials. Because the design is built out of a shipping container and ready to transport all around the world involving zero onsite construction, the carbon footprint of transporting thousands of materials for construction purposes is eliminated while construction costs are reduced and passed on to the user. Furthermore the Ecopod is built out of 100% recycled materials such that our limited resources are conserved. It can come equipped with atmospheric water generators, composting toilets and a small solar system. We are moving out of the prototype stage with the Ecopod and are now building generation four. This new unit will have the connectivity of five 8x20 units giving us a total building footprint of 800 square feet. The initial introduction of a multi connected Ecopod with larger useable space at an affordable price is having great appeal with many enquires and we feel this new eco-friendly building will have huge potential in all geographical areas of the world. From the high arctic to the tropics the Ecopod is adaptable in size and functionality and fully shippable by way of standard shipping methods. The construction materials which we have selected for use in the Ecopod make us unique and different from any other building on the market. Starting from recycling the incredibly strong and functional shipping container as our building platform and introducing LEED certified MagnisiaCore wall board panels, soya based non ozone depleting foam insulation, Supertherm ceramic coating wall finish enhancing our rated R- value over R-28, and Eco surfaces rubber flooring from recycled car tires combined with a designed flip side wall make this a very unique product indeed. We have come an incredibly long way in the short period of time we have been around and development of the Ecopod will continue to improve and grow as new products and ideas become available to us. Market interest is the main generator for moving beyond the single unit to the multi connected Ecopod with many looking for this type of building to meet local building codes, in terms of standalone, minimum building square feet requirements. We are happy to say that we are closing our first California sale of a single 160 square feet 8x20' Ecopod this month for a customer that was one of the very first to enquire about Ecopod last September. We are excited to work with local businesses for marketing purposes so that the Ecopod can reach people who are eager to take the next step towards reducing their carbon footprint. We see partnerships like these as a great opportunity to reach the 10x10 goal. For more information call (307) 220-8622 or e-mail benjaminmorley@gmail.com. |
